Hello Reader, I hope your weekend brought you a moment of peace, a little joy, and the space to just be. I’m continuing my podcast series, The Soft Life is Political, created with us in mind, Black women who’ve held it down for everybody else, and are finally ready to hold space for ourselves. This series was inspired by the 92%. The ones of us doing the most, carrying the weight, and still showing up with grace. I wanted to offer a space where we could slow down, breathe deeper, and gather the tools to redefine what life looks like on our terms. The Soft Life means different things to different people, but for me, it’s about inner healing, radical self-prioritization, and reclaiming joy at this big age. It’s a love letter to Gen X women, but every listener will find something meaningful in each conversation. There are 8 episodes in the series that are deep, rich, and perfect for sharing. This week’s episode is one I’ve been sitting with for a while. Episode 132: “Rest Is Resistance: Breaking Free from the Burden of Being Strong” We’ve been celebrated for our resilience. But rarely have we been asked how that constant strength feels in our bones. In this episode, I unpack what it means to live in a world that applauds our endurance but shames our rest. This isn’t about laziness, it’s about liberation. It’s about how we’ve been conditioned to override our exhaustion and deny our needs. And why it’s time to choose differently. If you’re tired of being tired, this one’s for you. Let it meet you where you are. In truth and softness,
