You're here because you’ve connected with me in one way or another. Whether through one of my journals, tuning into the Black Women Amplified podcast, catching an interview, or maybe you just thought I seemed like a groovy lady on the internet. However we met, I’m thrilled you’re here.

Right now, I feel we’re stepping into a new era of life. Whether you’re a Gen X woman ready for your next chapter, a corporate leader contemplating entrepreneurship, or you’re sending your kids off to college and wondering, “What’s next?”, there’s no denying the shift in the air. Life is moving, and we’re all evolving.

Why Soulful Success?

This newsletter is the beginning of a community where like-minded women connect, evolve, and thrive. If you’ve listened to the podcast, you’ll notice a common theme: Women rewriting their lives on their terms. Recently, I interviewed Nikki May, author of Wahala and the upcoming This Motherless Land. Beyond her books, we spoke about her transition from advertising executive to published author at 55.

I also sat down with Richelle Carey, who shared her journey from being a well-known broadcaster to becoming a new mom through adoption at 49. And then there’s Jayne Allen, whose new book The Most Wonderful Time explores reinvention—she too shifted from the music industry to becoming a published author in her late 40s.

These stories are the heart of Soulful Success: recalibrating your life in a way that aligns with the desires of your soul. For years, we’ve poured ourselves into others, accomplished many goals, and raised beautiful families. Now, it’s time to ask: What do I truly want?

What is Soulful Success?

Soulful Success is about embracing the possibilities in front of us. It’s about tackling the big questions, pushing through doubt, and creating a life that feels aligned with who you are today. In this newsletter, we’ll dive into these topics and, through the podcast, hear from incredible women who are forging new paths and always with a great bottle of wine and some delicious snacks in hand. (Because let’s be real, big shifts require great snacks!)

Why am I here with you?

About 18 months ago, I decided to close the door on a 35-year career. Overwhelmed, emotionally drained, depressed, and deeply affected by the pandemic, I had a choice to make. In many ways, God made it for me. I could either continue down the same path or forge a new one. With the support of my family, I chose the latter.

Since then, I’ve built an online platform, interviewed incredible women, and began a coaching company to help others do the same. I’ve learned that now is our time to shine. Whether it’s writing that book, starting a podcast, speaking on a stage, or turning your expertise into something that serves others, your Soulful Success is within reach.

I can’t wait to share this space with you every Friday. Together, we’ll explore what it means to live a life that nourishes the soul and brings us joy. And yes, it’s growing around here. I look forward to hearing more about what Soulful Success looks like for you.
