Embracing The Power Of Our Story
Bonjour Reader,
We are living in a time of great change. And with great change comes great opportunity.
Think back to 2020 when the world shifted overnight. Schools, businesses, and entire industries had to pivot in ways we never imagined. It was chaotic, yes, but it also forced innovation. Companies had to get creative. People had to reimagine their lives. And while no one could have prepared for that moment, we all walked away with deeper insight into ourselves.
I know I did. That time sent me into deep self-discovery, questioning everything, not from a place of judgment, but from curiosity. I wanted to understand myself, my choices, and the hidden beliefs that had shaped my life. What I found was eye-opening. There were ideas I had carried for years, ideas about who I was and what was possible for me, that were never mine to begin with. They were passed down, projected onto me, or quietly absorbed from a world that never fully saw me.
I tell my friends I was in my unraveling season, peeling back layers of self-doubt, outdated beliefs, and silent expectations. It wasn’t always easy, but it was the most freeing experience of my life. Even my best friend said she could see the difference. There is nothing more powerful than truly knowing who you are.
This is why my work as a coach centers on storytelling not just the stories we tell the world, but the ones we tell ourselves. Because the truth is, our greatest critic is often the one staring back at us in the mirror. No matter how many times people around us tell us we are brilliant, we hesitate to believe it.
But here’s what I know for sure: If you look back at your life, you’ll see that you are a walking miracle. Every challenge you’ve faced, you have overcome. Every moment of uncertainty, you have navigated. And even in this moment, when the world is shifting yet again, you are still standing.
Right now, Black women are making a different kind of pivot. We are not rushing to the front lines of every battle. We are resting. We are reclaiming our joy. We are watching With Love, Meghan on Netflix, planning beautiful meals, and savoring moments with friends. Because we have done so much for a world that has not always loved us back, and now? We are choosing to love ourselves.
We are in the midst of an evolutionary renaissance. Not the Beyoncé kind (though, yes, she’s iconic), but a deeper awakening to our own power. We are stepping out of survival mode and into the fullness of our divine feminine strength, moving with confidence, clarity, and an unshakable knowing that we are worthy of everything we desire.
So today, instead of doom-scrolling, love-scroll. Listen to music that makes you dance. Eat what brings you joy. Take time to heal, forgive, and dream bigger than ever before. You are the power you’ve been searching for. The evidence is all around you. Just remember to look for it.
All things are possible when you allow yourself to embrace them. Your next chapter is waiting. And you hold the pen.
With love and possibility,
Monica
P.S. If you’re ready to step fully into your next chapter, I have something for you.
